Dubai: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced that it will be supporting the Dubai Fitness Challenge, a city initiative of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Dubai Government.

The city-wide event will engage all segments of society, including government entities, businesses, schools, and residents, with the aim of making Dubai the most active city in the world.

This challenge is designed to motivate residents of all ages to adopt a healthier lifestyle by allocating at least 30 minutes a day for exercise over a 30-day period. The chamber will host fitness classes, activities, and events that will be free and open to registered participants. The city-wide challenge will run from October 20 to November 18,2017.

The announcement was made during a staff gathering event hosted by the Chamber, which was attended by Jessie Ng, Group Director – Live Events, Brand Experience and Creative Strategy at DXB LIVE, the experiential agency of Dubai World Trade Centre.

As a sponsor and participant of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the Chamber will organise and host free fitness classes, indoor and outdoor pop-up gyms, and corporate games, among other exciting activities.

Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber, said: “We are very proud to support this initiative as it encompasses many of the important values that exist within our organisation. This interactive challenge will make the business community more aware about the importance of promoting employee health, which will surely benefit the society as a whole.”

In addition, Buamim explained that the Chamber firmly supports its staff in setting positive goals for their lives, and noted that employee health and happiness are crucial to the organisation’s success.
