Immersive VR to draw crowds at Games Con Middle East

Staff Report

Dubai: As the region gears up for this month’s Games Con Middle East, HTC Vive, a virtual reality platform will be bringing room-scale virtual reality (VR) experiences to visitors through non-stop action across the three day festival held November 23-25 at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Vive is excited to display for the first time ever in the region its latest hardware add-ons for further gaming immersion. These include the recently launched Vive Tracker which brings any real-world object into the virtual world. It can be added to specially-designed accessories to play your favourite games with near limitless possibilities.

During Games Con, visitors can test the new Vive Tracker using specially-designed handles that resemble ping pong and tennis racquets, which can be used across the Virtual Sports experience, now available on Viveport.

For those who fancy themselves masters of the multiplayer shooter genre, they’ll be able to take a shot at the thrilling Pavlov VR (the Counter-Strike of VR) and get the chance for them and a team mate to take home a Vive each worth  Dh2,599 per unit.

The “VIVE vs. MSI Tournament” will be held across the three-day festival at the HTC Vive booth. Teams must register on the first day of the festival to fight for the chance at the quarter-finals and then the finale on November 25.
