Staff Report

The Conservative Friends of India hosted a special dinner in honour of the Conservatives Abroad in Dubai recently.

The dinner was attended by approx. 50 expats and the guest speaker, Stephan Shakespeare, CEO of YouGov, kept the guests spellbound through the very informative subject of polling, market research and it impacts on election campaigns.

The Conservatives Abroad in the UAE is headed by Laura Stockwell and is a vital organisation which helps to keep Conservatives abroad in touch with politics at home as well as increasing the number of registered voters from abroad.

Laura welcomed the guests and thanked the Conservative Friends of India for hosting this special dinner.

The Co-Chairman of the Conservative Friends of India, Dr Rami Ranger CBE, in highlighting the close and special relationship between Britain, the United Arab Emirates and India, reiterated how this most important relationship is set to become even stronger and is essential for future business and political stability.

Dr Ranger saluted the vision of the leaders of the United Arab Emirates and how the UAE was a destination of choice for global business and tourism, in particular for those from Britain. Dr Ranger emphasised the important work of the Conservatives Abroad, especially in a country like the U.A.E, where there is an affiliation and synergy between the success stories of those from Britain in the UAE. He went on to highlight how the Conservative Party is the Party of economic stability and prosperity, a Party representative of modern Britain which includes global partnerships to help Britain prosper post-Brexit. – abdulbasit@khaleejtimes.com
