Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) honoured its strategic media partners and journalists from local and international media institutions in appreciation of their coverage of the Park’s achievements in 2019.

Established in 2016 by royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE, and Ruler of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, SRTI Park aims to develop and manage an innovation ecosystem within a free zone that promotes R&D and supports enterprise activities and the triple helix collaboration of industry, government, and academia.

Media partners and journalists were also briefed on the Park’s most prominent innovative projects and investments. A tour was also held to showcase the research projects and tests happening at SRTI Park in addition to the new headquarters, which is scheduled for inauguration at the beginning of April.

On this occasion, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the media for its important role in promoting the Park and conveying the importance a knowledge-based economy.

Al-Mahmoudi also reviewed during the meeting the goals and vision of the Park, which come as a translation of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s vision to establish the Emirate of Sharjah as the capital of education, scientific research and innovation with the support of the American University of Sharjah (AUS).

He said, “Through our relationships with the most prestigious universities like Cambridge University, Oxford and Imperial College we have created an environment of research and world-class innovation, in the fields of: water technology, renewable energy, environmental technology, transportation technology, information technology, industrial architecture and design.”

The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park), an initiative of the American University of Sharjah Enterprises (AUSE), has expressed its commitment towards positioning itself as a premier research and innovation hub in the UAE. – abdulbasit@theuaenews.com
