Dubai – The long weekend is around the corner and in this regard Dubai and Sharjah have announced free parking facilities for four days starting from coming Thursday (November 30).

Parking will be free at all public parking spots in Sharjah from Thursday, November 30, until Sunday, December 3, on account of the National Day holidays, Sharjah Municipality announced. Regular fare will be applicable from Monday, December 4, the municipality added.

Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazi, director of public parking department at the municipality said that the free parking decision covers all areas of Sharjah city. It aims at creating an ideal atmosphere to celebrate the UAE National Day and offering comfort and happiness to the residents of the city and its visitors.

The public sector in UAE will enjoy a four-day break for National Day, while the private sector will get a three-day holiday, both starting this Thursday, November 30.

FREE PARKING IN DUBAI

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai, on Monday announced the business hours of its services in Dubai during Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday, Commemoration Day and National Day holidays. Service outlets include customers’ happiness centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai metro and tram, marine transit modes, driving schools and vehicle testing and registration centres.
According to the announcement, all paid parking zones will be free across the emirate (except the multi-level parking lots) starting from Thursday, November 30. Parking fees will be reactivated on Monday, December 4, 2017.

Dubai Metro
On Thursday, November 30, Metro Red Line stations will operate from 05.00 am to 1.00 am (of the following day). On Friday, December 1, these stations will operate from 10.00am to 1.00 am (of the following day), and on Saturday, December 2, and Sunday, December 3, they will operate from 05.00 am to 00.00 (midnight).

Dubai Tram
On Thursday, November 30, the Dubai Tram will operate from 06.00 am to 1.00 am (of the following day). On Friday, the tram will operate from 09.00am to 1.00 am (of the following day), and on Saturday and Sunday, it will operate from 06.00 am to 1.00 am (of the following day).

Bus services
The timing of public buses (Dubai Bus) during the holiday will be as follows: Main Bus Stations such as Gold Souk will operate from 05.00am to 00.29am (past midnight). Al Ghubaiba Station will be in service from 05.00 am to 00.10 (past midnight). Sub-stations such as Satwa will start from 05.00 am to 11.35 pm except for Route C01, which operates around-the-clock. The bus service will run at Al Qusais Station from 04.30am to 00.00 (midnight), and at Al Quoz Industrial Station from 05.00am to 11.30 pm. At Jebel Ali Station the service will start at 05.00am and continue up to 00.00 (midnight).

Metro link bus stations (Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Abu Hail, and Etisalat) will be in service from 05.00am to 00.20 am (past midnight). The timing of all metro feeder bus routes will be synchronised with the scheduled timings of the metro service. – abdulbasit@theuaenews.com
