Poland’s Wind and Water Boat Show opens in Gdynia, expects over 15,000 visitors

The 14th edition of the WIND and WATER on water Boat Show opened on July 18 at Marina Gdynia. The four-day boat show is expected to welcome around 15,000 trade visitors. More than 130 exhibitors are participating in the boat show, and there are more than 120 vessels on display.

The boat show is organised by YACHT EXPO, Murator EXPO, in the partnership with the monthly Żagle. The strategic partner of the Fair is Gdynia – Sailing Capital of Poland.

The WIND and WATER on water Boat Show is the only event in Poland, during which visitors touch and feel the most beautiful sailing boats and motor yachts on the water, as well as the fastest scooters, modern sailing and motorboat equipment.

Top industry stakeholders attended the official opening ceremony. Addressing the attendees, they mentioned about the history of the Polish yacht industry, innovation in today’s shipbuilding and the future of the Polish boat industry.

They said that the main goal of the WIND and WATER on the water is to promote water sports activities as well as to enable water sports enthusiasts to evaluate modern, worldwide known yachts and motorboats as well as to get acquainted with the newest trends in water sports equipment in their natural environment – on water.
Sebastian Nietupski, President of the Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports POLBOAT, in his presentation, talked about the “Potential of the Polish yacht industry.”

Sebastian Nietupski informed that there are around 1,000 companies involved in the boating industry in Poland and the industry employs more than 40,000 people. The industry produces 22,000 boats per annum, and 95 per cent of the boats go to export markets, mainly European countries – Germany, The Netherlands, France, Norways; and the USA.

Nearly 130 exhibitors are taking part in this year’s Boat Show, including companies which are participating for the first time: Spradling EUROPE, PPHU Navigator Kamila Błaszkowska, Waterbus S.C.

In the Marina Gdynia, there will be about 120 units, in tent halls set on the quay: newest sailing accessories, motorboats, navigational equipment, belaying and rescue equipment, tourist and sports clothing as well as the offer of charters organizers. – abdulbasit@theuaenews.com
