The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced the death of two novel coronavirus ‘Covid-19’ patients on Friday night.
One of the patients was a 78-year-old Arab national, who had arrived from Europe. His cause of death was a heart attack triggered by his Covid-19 infection.

The other case was a 58-year-old Asian resident, who was suffering from several chronic diseases, including a heart disease and kidney failure.

The Ministry expressed its regret and condoled with the families of the deceased.

A statement issued by the ministry confirmed that both cases had received the necessary medical care in state hospitals, and that available studies on this disease show that the death rate may reach 3.6 per cent – highly likely among the elderly and those who suffer from chronic diseases.
The ministry calls on community members to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to instructions issued by authorities and practice social distancing to ensure the health and safety of others.
