The UAE News report: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan criticized French president Emmanuel Macron for the encouragement of Islamophobia and said that the president of France is willfully provoking Muslims.
In a couple of tweets, Imran Khan mentioned that the leader should unite people like Nelson Mandela, former South African president. Pakistani prime minister criticized that instead of giving a healing touch, Macron is creating further polarization and marginalization that may lead to radicalization.
Imran Khan referred president Macron’s Wednesday’s comments in which he criticised Islamists and vowed not to “give up cartoons” depicting the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Prime Minister Imran said that President Macron has attacked and hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims across the world through his act.
Imran Khan is the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, known as PTI. Pakistan’s minister also criticized Macron’s comment on Twitter. Freedom of expression should be in limit, planning minister Asad Umar said, adding that it is a criminal offence to insult the monarch in the UK.
Another Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhry said, “France’s foolish extremist do not hold world peace dear and they are doing unacceptable acts.”
