The UAE News report: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) said the vaccines have been distributed to all centres where the jab is offered for free.
The authority had started vaccinating residents against the coronavirus with the Pfizer vaccine on December 23. However, a month later, the authority had rescheduled the first dose of the vaccine amid a global shortage.
Dr Farida Al Khaja, CEO of DHA’s Clinical Support Services and Nursing Sector and Chairperson of the Covid-19 Vaccination Steering Committee, said that at this stage, the vaccine is prioritised for the elderly, those with chronic diseases, people of determination and those on the frontlines.
Only those with residency visas issued in Dubai will get the jab.
Residents who fit the eligibility criteria must call the DHA on 800342 to schedule appointments, the authority stressed.
She said appointments for frontliners and vital sector workers will be scheduled in coordination with government departments and the institutions in which they work.
In addition to the Pfizer vaccine, the DHA also administers Sinopharm and Oxford-AstraZeneca jabs.
