The UAE News Report: The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on November 9announced 1,146 UAE coronavirus cases. The ministry also announced recoveries at 668along with one death. Globally, COVID-19 cases jumped more than 50 million on Sunday.

The new UAE coronavirus cases were identified after conducting additional 85,643 tests by the ministry and the total tests stand nearly 14.22 million so far.

As of November 9, total UAE coronavirus cases stand at 143,289 with 138,959 recoveries. Death toll rises to 515.

A couple of weeks ago, the Dubai government announced another stimulus package of Dh500 million mainly to support the local economy and deal with the impact of coronavirus outbreak and boost economic recovery.

In the World, the UAE is the first country where the number of Covid-19 tests conducted has exceeded its population (among countries with a population of more than one million).

Authorities in UAE issue regular advisories urging people to maintain physical distancing, wear a mask when stepping outside, curbing gatherings and taking special care of vulnerable residents to avoid UAE coronavirus cases.

Sadly, coronavirus infections crossed 50 million mark on Sunday, according to media reports, with a second wave of the virus in the past 30 days accounting for a quarter of the total.

Last month was the worst month for the pandemic so far, with the US becoming the first country to report more than 100,000 daily cases. A surge in Europe contributed to the rise.

The latest seven-day average shows worldwide daily infections are rising by more than 540,000. Over 1.25 million people have died from the respiratory disease that emerged in China late last year.

Europe, with about 12 million cases, is the worst-affected region, overtaking Latin America. Europe accounts for 24 per cent of Covid-19 deaths.
