Dubai: PropTech platform Tern has expanded its rental-payment offering through collaborations with Tabby and Bayut, giving tenants more ways to pay rent and earn rewards.
The Dubai-based company said eligible tenants can split rental payments into four instalments through its Tabby integration. Bayut has joined the platform as its rental rewards partner.
Tern also allows tenants to pay rent by credit card and earn both card rewards and Tern loyalty points, which can be redeemed across more than 200 merchants.
Eligibility and fees
The platform offers UAE Pass onboarding and flexible payment options, with fees applicable to certain payment methods. Instalment access is subject to eligibility.
Through the Tern Rewards app, tenants in Tern Alliance properties can sign in using UAE Pass and upload their Ejari for approval. Other tenants can provide their landlord’s IBAN for self-onboarding.
The company said more than AED 300 million in annualised rent payments now flows through its platform.
Digital tools for landlords
Tern provides landlords and property managers with a free digital platform for payment tracking, reconciliation and real-time portfolio visibility. The company said landlords receive rental payments in full, without deductions.
“Rent has traditionally been one of the largest and least flexible expenses for residents,” said Said Al Sayyed, Co-Founder of Tern.
He said the platform aimed to make rental payments more convenient, flexible and rewarding while giving residents greater freedom in managing a major household expense.
Co-founded by Al Sayyed and Mohammad Shaitou, Tern connects tenants, landlords, banks and merchants through its rental payments and rewards platform.
