The decision specified the beginning and end of the school year, the number of school days, and the dates of winter and spring breaks.
The UAE government on Monday made an announcement regarding the school calendar for the next 3 years until 2022-2023.
A meeting chaired by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Ministerial Development Council okayed the three years’ calendars for private and public schools for the years 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23.
This decision explained the start and the end of the school year in the UAE, the total number of school days, and all the dates of winter and spring breaks for both public and private schools in the country, according to a tweet by the the UAE government.
In the UAE, the academic year 2020-2021 started on August 30, while the 2021-2022 school year will start on August 29, 2021. And for the school year 2022-2023 classes will start on August 28, according to the announcement.
It is stated that each school year will have two breaks in addition to a summer vacation.
It is mentioned that both the 2020-21 and 2022-23 school academic years will have a total of 188 school days and 2021-2022 will have 186 school days in the country.
It is also announced that the minimum school days for each academic year should be 182 days in the UAE for public schools and those following the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum.
