Arada Capital, the proposed fund manager of master developer Arada, has completed its incorporation in Abu Dhabi Global Market and appointed an independent board member and a chief investment officer.

Abdullah Mohammed Al Mazrui has joined the board, while Aastha Billore has been named chief investment officer as the company builds its team and investment pipeline.

The company said it aims to target US$5 billion in assets under management over four years, following fund establishment in ADGM and subject to the grant of its Financial Services Permission. Incorporation is a separate step from that regulatory permission.

Board and investment appointments

Al Mazrui brings more than four decades of experience in banking, investment and commerce. He is chairman of Mazrui International and a board member of Investcorp in Bahrain. His previous positions include managing director and CEO of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi and chairman of Aramex.

Billore has nearly two decades of experience in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions and strategic transactions. She has held senior roles at Meraas, Dubai Holding, Careem and Shamal Holding.

Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, executive vice chairman of Arada and chairman of Arada Capital, said the platform’s vision is to connect institutional and family office capital with selected opportunities, supported by governance and investment discipline.

Initial focus on GCC real estate

Moustafa Fahour OAM, CEO and managing director of Arada Capital, said the company will begin with GCC real estate, with plans to expand into infrastructure and selected international markets.

The strategy includes access to Arada’s development pipeline as well as third-party opportunities, which the company said would be assessed individually.

Arada Capital is continuing to recruit its investment team. Its parent developer said it has a US$50 billion project pipeline and a portfolio of more than 70,000 homes worldwide.
