Dubai: The world’s most exclusive and exotic cars will be shown for the first time in the region at the second annual Gulf Concours to be held at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah this weekend.

Presented by Vacheron Constantin, among the highlights of the 2017 edition is one of the original factory Porsche 959 rally cars that won the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally and also achieved success in the Pharaoh’s rally through Egypt before it was released to the public as the fastest road going car of its time.

Just 292 cars were made worldwide which are today considered near priceless, while this factory rally example remains one of the most historic competition cars in existence.

The Gulf Concours redefines the meaning of a Concours with the inclusion of a hand selected mix of ‘modern bespoke’ cars to supplement the world’s rarest, most valuable classics on display.

Complementing the array of exceptionally rare motor vehicles are two classic Jaguars that are being offered for sale and will hopefully find new owners over the course of the weekend.

The graceful lines of the 1968, Series 1.5, Jaguar E-Type Roadster are timeless and with fewer than 18,000 original miles on the clock, this genuine three-owner example maintains superb patina reflecting its near 50-year history while showing full service records throughout its life.

No less classic but a decidedly more modern Jaguar is this 1993, XJ220 supercar that held a recorded top speed of 347kmh set by F1 driver and now F1 TV pundit, Martin Brundle at the time of its launch.

This particular car, chassis number 220668, body number 233 and kick plate and customer number 225 was manufactured on the 2nd December 1993 is one of the last production cars built out of a total 277 examples.

Current estimates place the E-Type at Dh820,000, while the iconic XJ220 is offered with Price On Application for interested buyers.

Set in the lush grounds of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah’, the invitation-only event is an intimate and luxurious environment for exotic car lovers to mingle with like-minded enthusiasts of luxury brands and is set to become one of the world’s most noted Concours d’ elegance events.
