Gunmen kill at least 19 in Kabul University

The UAE News report: At least 19 people were killed on Monday as gunmen attacked Kabul University campus, according to Afghan government officials.

Afghan interior ministry has confirmed that at least 22 other people were injured during the Monday attack.

It is stated that attackers targeted the campus students of Kabul University and fled in the Capital, according to an eyewitness.

The eyewitness added that the gunmen attacked Kabul University and they were shooting at every student. The eyewitness escaped along with his friends from one of the university’s gates.

The attack happened when the Kabul University was organizing a book fair and it was attended by Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan.

The Taliban clarified that they are not involved in this shooting incident.

It is also stated that shooting took place atter an explosion in the same area.

The attack continued for several hours and security forces managed to kill three of the attackers, according to a spokesperson of the interior ministry.
