ICAI Dubai hosts 37th Annual Conference, Sheikh Nahayan attends as chief guest

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Dubai Chapter, NPIO recently held its 37th Annual Conference in the Dubai with the theme ‘Accelerating Millennium Strides’. The focus of this conference was on transforming businesses to adapt to technological advancements.

Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Hon’ble Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance, Government of UAE, was the chief guest of the event. Navdeep Suri, Ambassador of India to the UAE; Vipul The Consul General of India to Dubai; CA Prafulla P. Chhajed, President, ICAI; and CA Atul Kumar Gupta, Vice President, ICAI were the special guests of honour.
Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, graced the stage and spoke about how the UAE Government is at the forefront of using technology, focusing on evolving and sustaining Dubai as the most modern city. Veteran Indian Film Actor and Motivational Speaker, Mr Ashish Vidyarthi spoke extensively on Leadership Experience. The line-up of esteemed speakers included Ms Anshula Kant, Managing Director, State Bank of India; Anil Razdan IAS, Former Secretary Power, Government of India; Hemal Shah, SVP and Regional CIO, Asia-Pacific, Dell Digital; CA P R Ramesh, Chairman, Deloitte India; and Osman Sultan, CEO, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (known as du).

The conference also witnessed the presence of Padma Shri Awardee Resul Pookutty who won the Oscar Award for Best Sound Mixing and Padma Bhushan Awardee Abhinav Bindra, an Olympic Gold Medallist in shooting for India, both with very interesting and inspiring stories to share.

CA Mahmood Bangara, Chairman, ICAI (Dubai) Chapter NPIO said, “Through this conference, we have been able to spread more knowledge about the rapidly transforming world of technology and its impact on this world of commerce and business. It is becoming essential to acquire a position from where you can adapt to the changing technology.”

Resul Pookutty spoke about his ‘Sound Story to OSCAR and Abhinav Bindra talked to the guests about ‘Hitting the Target in the Changing Environment’.

The 2-Day conference culminated with a pulsating musical extravaganza by one of the leading Indian singer-music composer duo, Sachin & Jigar, who enthralled the guests with some of their musical hits. -abdulbasit@theuaenews.com
