Nissan has opened its first NISMO Performance Centre outside Japan in Ferntree Gully, Melbourne, as the carmaker expands access to its performance brand’s parts, restoration services and technical expertise.
The facility marks the first phase of a multi-stage Australian expansion by Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. and Nissan Oceania, the company said in an announcement on 21 October.
Link with Japan’s Omori Factory
The Melbourne centre has a direct connection with NISMO’s Omori Factory in Japan. It will provide access to authentic performance and heritage parts, vehicle restoration programmes and factory-certified technical specialists.
Nissan said the Australian programme would also cover accessories, heritage support and customer experiences, giving local enthusiasts access to expertise developed through its motorsport and performance operations in Japan.
Yutaka Sanada, global head of the NISMO brand, said: “Australia is a natural priority because of its mature performance culture, strong GT-R community and clear appetite for authentic NISMO heritage, performance parts, technical expertise and motorsport-driven experiences.”
The opening follows plans announced in December 2025 to expand NISMO’s global restoration, restomod and parts businesses. Those plans initially focus on the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, R33 and R34, with other vehicles and regional programmes to follow.
NISMO’s Middle East presence
NISMO entered the Middle East in 2015 with the region-exclusive Patrol NISMO, alongside the 370Z NISMO and GT-R NISMO.
Nissan said the Patrol NISMO and Z NISMO are currently available through its partner dealership network in the region.
