Students of Media Science Department recently organised an exhibition of art, design and film projects at SZABIST University in Dubai.

The event was attended by top officials including Inayat-ur-Rahman, Deputy Business Editor of The Gulf Today; Fahad Sheikh and Umer Khan, CEO Shoot at Sight and Producers of famous Pakistani films like Pinki Memsab.

The honourable guests were received by the Head of campus Dr Hummayoun Naeem and the organiser and the faculty Ms Shafaq Zehra.

The guests along with Mr Naeem, Ms Zehra and the programme manager Ms Sumaira Osmani took a round of the display of students work.

Masood Ali Gohar’s illustration of an original comic book “Vengence” grabbed attention while Sana Rizvi’s digital collages on Dadaism and contemporary design were thought-provoking. The design work of Faraz Hashim, Reeba Waseem and Sehar Irfan were also appreciated by the guests.

Film projects were the most interesting section of the exhibition where students displayed their interactive and experimental films. Fahad Sheikh appreciated the experimental films of Areeba Khan and Usama Zafar while Umer Khan admired the simplicity and subtleness in the narratives of Hania Siddiqui and Neha Ajmal. Inayat-ur-Rahman commended the unique conceptual narratives of Saboor Kiani. “Students have put in a lot of effort and time in producing these films while the concepts depict the passion they have for shaping the art of storytelling,” said the course instructor Shafaq Zehra.
