Pakistan’s Dubai consulate shuts after new cases detected

The UAE News web report: The Pakistan Consulate in Dubai has temporarily suspended its services after finding some Covid-19 cases on its premises. The Consulate will be closed for three days.

The consulate said all consular services from Tuesday, February 9, till Thursday, February 11, will be unavailable and the consulate will remain closed for a thorough sterilisation process.

The consulate will resume its regular services from Sunday, February 14.

In case of emergencies related to the repatriation of remains, Pakistani citizens in Dubai and the Northern Emirates can call Zubair Ahmed at 054-4295324. For other emergency cases, the country’s nationals can call Hafiz Ali Nawaz at 056-3518068 and Miraj Rasool at 056-4817976.

“From Sunday, February 14, 2021, the Consulate will serve 25 applicants at a time as per SOPs (standard operating procedures). Only the applicant himself/herself will be allowed to enter the consulate premises. Accompanying persons will not be allowed to enter the Consulate. All community members are required to cooperate to implement the Covid-19 SOPs as per the UAE laws,” the consulate said in a statement on Monday.
