Pakistan eyes enhanced military ties with UAE

The UAE News web report: Pakistan said on Monday that it wants to enhance the level and scope of military engagements with the UAE.

This was stated by General Nadeem Raza, Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), after attending the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan’s Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) and UAE’s TAWAZUN.

Raza, who is on an official visit to the UAE, also toured International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) and Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) in Abu Dhabi. CJCSC visited different stalls and interacted with the participants.

Chairman JCSC said that Pakistan defence manufacturing sector is capable of meeting the bulk requirements of foreign customers in areas of medium, as well as selected areas of high technology. He also said that the MoU will allow the forging of new strategic relationships between Pakistan and UAE and will enhance the level and scope of military engagements between both the countries.

On the sidelines of the exhibitions, Chairman JCSC also called on Staff Lieutenant General Hamad Mohamed Thani, Chief of Staff UAE Armed Forces, General Enzo Vecciarelli, Chief of Defence (CHOD), Italy and H.E. Oleh Uruskiy Yuriy Hustev, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.
