The UAE News report: The much-awaited retail and leisure destination, ‘The Mall of Dir,’ opened its doors to the public, during a glittering ceremony held recently in Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province of Pakistan.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony of the mega shopping mall was graced by Inayat-ullah Khan, Member of Provincial Assembly, Sahibzada Tariqullah, former Member of National Assembly, Najmuddin Khan, former federal minister, Tariq Iqbal, District Police Officer, Upper Dir along with other top officials.

Jehan Alam Khan, former Tehsil Nazim, Sardar Alam (Doctor Khan), a renowned businessman and Ghulam Younus, owners of the property were also present on the occasion along with a huge number of guests, political figures, doctors and local community.

Sahibzada Tariqullah told The UAE News that the opening of the Mall of Dir is a great move despite the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that it will open more business avenues and would create more jobs for the Upper Dir youth.

Sardar Alam, (Doctor Khan), a renowned businessman and owner of the property said that the timely completion of the mega project ‘The Mall of Dir’ is a dream come true. 

He noted that the opening of the new mega mall will provide a full-fledged shopping, leisure and dinning facilities not only to the people of Upper Dir but also for the tourists, under one roof. 

Sardar Alam mentioned that the shoppers of Upper Dir instead of going to Islamabad or Peshawar would be facilitated at the new property, adding that they are also planning to open more retail, leisure and dinning outlets at the mall in future. 

Qazi Seyahuddin, who works at Education department, lauded the owners for opening the state-of-the-art facility at the far-flung district of Upper Dir, despite the global recession. He mentioned that The Mall of Dir would add more flavor to the retail and shopping sector of Upper Dir. – abdulbasit@theuaenews.com
