The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday announced 1,061 cases of coronavirus, along with 1,146 recoveries.

The new cases were detected through additional 102,379 tests. Six new deaths were also reported.

Total number of cases in UAE as of today stand at 100,794, while total recoveries are 90,556. Death toll rises to 435.

More than 10.2 million Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the UAE so far.

It was announced yesterday that the UAE will resume issuing entry and work permits for employment in government and semi-government entities, as well as visas for domestic workers.

Measures to stem the spread of Covid-19, such as PCR tests for workers before they enter the country, as well as quarantine if deemed necessary, will be in place. The announcement was made by UAE’s official news agency, citing the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.

It is said that workers having valid UAE residence visas can continue to enter the country, irrespective of their nationality, including those who work in government and semi-government entities. Those wishing to enter the country are required to submit a request on the website ica.gov.ae.

In the meantime, residents and tourists will be able to fly to Ras Al Khaimah without obtaining approval from October 15.

Inbound tourists will have to adhere to the procedures and requirements adopted by the UAE that include undergoing medical testing and obtaining a negative result before returning within a period not exceeding 96 hours.

Tourists or their sponsors should cover the cost of another lab test or PCR test, as well as the cost of quarantine in the case of result coming positive. In addition, tourists will have to fulfil all requirements including reserving travel tickets and obtaining tourist medical insurance.

They are also needed to go for a PCR test four days before coming to the UAE, as well as fill in a medical disclosure form for submission to relevant authorities on arrival in the UAE.
