The UAE News report: More than 650 Pakistani nationals and Indians arrived in the UAE on visit visas in the last couple of days had been repatriated as they did not meet the entry requirements outlined by the UAE government.

The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai has revealed that a total of 678 Pakistani nationals did not meet the set criteria for visit visas and did not get the entry in the UAE. It is announced that 550 Pakistanis and over 100 Indian nationals had been repatriated on non-compliance by Thursday.

Authorities in Dubai have made it mandatory to show Dh2,000 cash and return air ticket for visit visa holders in addition to hotel booking.

A lot of Pakistani nationals coming on visit visa stay with their friends or relatives. In this case, they have to provide the complete residential address and other necessary requirements about their friends or relatives in the UAE.

Pakistan consulate in Dubai has confirmed that a total of 678 Pakistani nationals on a visit or tourist visas arrived in Dubai through PIA, Airblue, flydubai and Emirates were not allowed to enter Dubai for not fulfilling the entry requirements.

It is also announced that out of the total, 558 Pakistani nationals had already been returned to the home country. The remaining 120 passengers are also being repatriated in due course of time, the Pakistani Consulate in Dubai informed.

Pakistan consulate urged the Pakistani nationals to fulfil minimum entry requirements for Dubai and avoid entry denial in the Emirate.

Travellers from some other South Asian and African countries were also stranded for similar entry requirement for a visit visa, according to sources at Dubai airport.

It is mandatory under the UAE immigration rules that passenger arriving must have return air ticket, hotel reservation or complete address of their relatives or friends in the UAE. Therefore, it is mandatory for Pakistani nationals as well.

According to the Consulate General of India, more than 50 Indian passengers had been stranded at the airport and later returned to India. It is mentioned that around 14 Indians had been allowed entry.   

Travel agents informed that several passengers reached Dubai through GoAir flights from Kannur and Mumbai last week.
