The UAE News report: The Sharjah Municipality on Saturday launched two digital scanning vehicles and these vehicles will monitor parking violations in high-density areas of Sharjah.

The launch of these digital scanning vehicles is the first phase in which Sharjah Municipality is introducing advanced inspection system for busy parking zones, informed director-general of the Municipality Thabit Al Taraifi.

Al Taraifi said that a single digital scanning vehicle has the ability to scan 3,000 vehicles in just one hour.

Sharjah Municipality director for public parking Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin mentioned that these new vehicles will monitor areas with the touch-enabled payment devices for Sharjah parking violations.

He added that the digital scanning vehicle can read a couple of things such as the licence plates and segregate data of fees paid through electronic tickets, long-term subscriptions and text messages as well. He said that vehicles owners will have a 10-minute grace period without paying the fee as an old practice.
